Kurdish Music Conference: From Past to Present, From Present to Future

Mesopotamian Cultural Centers are organizing a conference on the Kurdish music in the city of Diyarbakir on 23-24 December, 2006 in order to discuss those problems of Kurdish music that have been long-debated in different platforms.

  • Our Conference shall be the first platform to pursue a multidimensional debate on Kurdish music with the participation of academics, researchers musicians, producers, arrangers, directors, cultural organizations, local representatives and relevant persons of law from a range of perspectives.
  • Four sessions will be held during the two-day conference in which the participants will address the past and present problems of the Kurdish Music with its popular, academic economic, political and industrial dimensions.

Session themes and tentative titles are determined as follows:
