The Kurdish American Youth Organization will be holding its

by a celebration at Tennessee State University in Nashville,
Tennessee.
The Kurdish American Youth Organization (KAYO) is dedicated
to promoting the Kurdish culture and aims to provide the Kurdish
youth with a platform to create stronger alliances and better
communication among the youth nation-wide. The conference will
be primarily focused on the role of the youth in Kurdish societies
and importance of helping improve the situation for the Kurdish
people worldwide. The conference will highlight the organization’s
strong commitment to preserving the Kurdish culture and the
need to increase awareness among Kurds and non-Kurds of the
culture and history, and problems facing the Kurdish people
in Kurdistan and around the world.
The main goal of KAYO is to represent and serve the interests
of the Kurdish youth in North America. Through the conference,
KAYO aims to fulfill several of its objectives. Among those
is to encourage Kurdish youth to be more involved in their
communities and create discussion among the youth addressing
the issues facing the Kurdish people on many different levels.
The conference will also serve to introduce the Kurdish question
to American communities and organizations and to create awareness
among the people about the assistance that is needed in order
to help the youth in Kurdistan.
This conference will allow KAYO to establish better relations
with the Kurdish youth and spread awareness about the organization
in order to establish a common ground of work to foster the
Kurds’ diverse culture in North America. KAYO wishes
to serve as the voice of the Kurdish youth and provide assistance
to all young Kurds seeking support in the fields of education,
social services, community development and cultural expression.
This conference will be the first of its kind for the Kurdish
communities in North America. Many different speakers will
be invited to the event addressing a number of topics and sharing
their views. The conference will take place on February 10th
at 9:00am to 5:00pm.
The conference will be followed by a celebration featuring
famous Kurdish singer, Dler.
The celebration will begin at 7PM.
All are welcome to attend. We, the Kurdish American Youth
Organization, hope you will join us in the very first, but
not last, conference and celebration. We look forward to seeing
